Vamos aprender alguns termos (em ordem do texto) do futebol lendo a reportagem abaixo:

broke ...hearts = partiu corações
fought back = reverteu ( o placar )
defender = zagueiro
headed = cabeceou
corner = escanteio
two-goal half-time lead = ganhava o primeiro tempo de 2 x 0
levelled = igualou o resultado
comeback = recuperação ( do placar )
header = cabeceio
referee = árbitro
linesman = bandeirinha (assistente do árbitro)
miss it = não enxergaram ( o gol feito pelo Kaka )
golden ball = bola de oura (prêmio do Kaka)
golden shoe-winner = ganhador artilheiro da competição

LUCIO broke American hearts as Brazil fought back from two goals down to retain the Confederations Cup.

The Bayern Munich defender headed home from Elano's corner with just six minutes left to complete a stirring comeback by the Samba stars.


The USA, who shocked Spain in the semi-finals, looked set for another huge upset at Ellis Park in Johannesburg when Clint Dempsey and Landon Donovan secured a two-goal half-time lead.


But Luis Fabiano's double levelled before captain Lucio's late show.


The comeback came despite Kaka being controversially denied a goal at 2-1 when his header seemed to cross the line, only for referee Martin Hansson and his linesman to miss it.


USA keeper Tim Howard clawed the ball out and the ref waved play on. But ...


...Brazil's Kaka won the Golden Ball as the tournament's best player, ahead of five-goal Golden Shoe-winner Fabiano and Dempsey.


Howard won the Golden Glove award and USA team-mate Jay DeMerit of Watford was named in the tournament's best XI.


Coach Bob Bradley said: "I'm extremely proud.


"It feels pretty lousy to have thrown this one away but people over the world can see we have a good team."
