Esta pessoa "left you in the hand"?????
TO LEAVE SOMEONE HIGH AND DRY
All my friends quit and left me high and dry.
All the children ran away and left Billy high and dry to take the blame for the broken window.
I hope you like it.

WRAPPED UP
Já ouviu falar do verbo "To wrap"?
Porém, existe a expressão"to be wrapped up in something" que transmite uma outra ideia.
To be wrapped up in something = estar envolvido (focado) com alguma coisa que você acaba não dando atenção para outras coisas.
A definição em inglês seria: If you are wrapped up in someone or something, you are very interested in them and ignore other people or things.
Veja estes exemplos:
She's always been completely wrapped up in the children.
Count John out! He is wrapped up in his work.
Nem conte com John! Ele está totalmente focado no seu trabalho.
Jane is too wrapped up in her career.
She was so wrapped up in her work that she didn't realize how late it was.

Existe a possibilidade de usar a expressão "in bare feet"
e.g. Don't walk around outside in your bare feet .
A palavra "bare" significa: sem qualquer roupa,
"cobertura", sem nada.
